Oxygen Isotopic Compositions in a Plagioclase‐Olivine Inclusion from Ningqiang Similar to Those in Al‐rich Chondrules

چکیده

We report the petrology and oxygen isotopic composition, using a Cameca NanoSIMS 50L ion microprobe, of plagioclase–olivine inclusion, C#1, found in Ningqiang carbonaceous chondrite. In addition to major phases (plagioclase, spinel olivine), C#1 is also surrounded by pyroxene rim (64 vol % Ca-rich 36 Ca-poor pyroxenes). On three-isotope diagram, δ17O vs. δ18O, compositions individual minerals analyzed fall along chondrite anhydrous mineral line (CCAM), show significant variability δ18O δ17O. Origin of Olivines in Type I Chondrules: Constraints from Oxygen and Magnesium Isotopic Compositions

Introduction: Libourel and Krot [5] reported the discovery of lithic clasts having granoblastic texture and composed of forsterite and Fe,Ni-metal within Type I chondrules from the CV carbonaceous chondrite Vigarano. They suggested that Type I chondrules consist of an inherited, relict component, mainly forsteritic olivine and ±Fe,Ni-metal, originated from olivine-dominated (dunite-like) mantle...

SIMS measurements on oxygen-isotopic compositions of chondrules and matrix in the Yamato 691 EH3 chondrite

Introduction: Whole rocks, chondrules and matrix from the same chondrite group typically have the same or very similar oxygen-isotopic compositions [e.g., 1]. Among the three major clans of chondrites, enstatite chondrites (ECs) have the most uniform oxygen isotopic compositions (Fig. 1). In order to study oxygen-isotopic heterogeneity of ECs in microscale, we carried out SIMS measurements on c...

Al-Mg systematics of CAis, POI, and ferromagnesian chondrules from Ningqiang

We have made aluminum-magnesium isotopic measurements on 4 melilite-bearing calcium-aluminum-rich inclusions (CAis), plagioclase-olivine inclusion (POI), and 2 ferromagnesian chondrules from the ingqiang carbonaceous chondrite. All of the CAJs measured contain clear evidence for radiogenic 26Mg* from the decay of26AI (r = 1.05 Ma). A lthough the low AI/Mg ratios of the melilites introduce large...

Short-lived chlorine-36 in a Ca- and Al-rich inclusion from the Ningqiang carbonaceous chondrite.

Excesses of sulfur-36 in sodalite, a chlorine-rich mineral, in a calcium- and aluminum-rich inclusion from the Ningqiang carbonaceous chondrite linearly correlate with chorine/sulfur ratios, providing direct evidence for the presence of short-lived chlorine-36 (with a half-life of 0.3 million years) in the early solar system. The best inferred (36Cl/35Cl)o ratios of the sodalite are approximate...
